About Us

Ever since I got my first all-white husky I became infatuated with all things husky. I read everything I could on them. The way they acted, looked, played fight, pull sleds, hunted prey, and showed love. I never wanted to be a breeder but time and time again people around my community wanted to know when my dog was going to have a puppies. After years of learning Elsa had her first set of puppies. During this time I applied everything I knew about  dog food diet, mind stimulation, and dog behaviorialism. I noticed how more and more breeders put a bigger empasis on AKC papers than scientific best practices on how to have the best healthiest puppies. Because of this we stopped registering our litter under AKC as we say how little interested AKC was with educating dog owners on these best practices. 

We take a balanced approach to raising our huskies. For us we love breeding our puppies around people and preparing them for households pets that will be the center piece of any home. While at the same time using disciplined dog training practices. Many of our dogs have gone on to be emotional supports dogs. Some have been featured in photo shoots with famous celebrities (we are originally from California). 

I still remember paying a behavioralist to help train my dogs and telling me "since your dog is a husky I woudn't expect them to be as disciplined and wel trained as other dogs". This really upset me as I felt in my heart my huskies could reach the level of disciplined any bog owner would dream of. And with a lot of hard work my huskies got to that level. This is why our dogs have been able to used in photo shoots by many different clients. And I'm pride to say that any dog we sale comes with a lifetime of free dog training advice and program creating. 

This all happened while living in California. While living there we always wanted to move to the east coast so our dogs could enjoy the snow and now that we are here are continueing to make more and more fur friends and family here. So we changed our names online from 'HuggingHuskies' to more appropriately fit where we live. Hence the name 'Huskies of Connecticut'.
